Please help!!!! Why is only one side of my Skullcandy headphones playing music?

 I was just listening to music and suddenly my nice sorta new (I got them in December) Skullcandy headphones stop working in one earbud.  No sound is coming out of it!  I made sure that it was completely plugged in and that there were no cracks or kinks in the cord or anything.  It crackles on sometimes, but only for a millisecond.  I need help because I would prefer not to have to take them to the store or mall or anything.  Please help me!!!  Thanks
